A New Wi-Fi and Transition to the All Wireless Office Architecture for a Development Company

More about Customer

Wrike is a developer of a platform for co-working and projects management used by companies all over the world.

Wrike offers a common digital workspace for employees of startups, small- and medium-sized enterprises, major corporations. The designed tools, functions and possible integrations help to control working processes and automatize them to achieve better results.

Currently, Wrike numbers more than 1,000 employees all over the world, with company’s offices in San Jose, San Diego, Dublin, Prague, Tokyo, Melbourne, Voronezh and Saint Petersburg.

Challenge

Due to the dynamic growth of the company and, therefore, an increased number of employees, services and applications in use, the previous wireless network of the Saint Petersburg office no longer corresponded to the required parameters of performance, reliability and availability.

An extensive upgrade of the WiFi network was required

Solution

When working on the project, LWCOM specialists performed:

1
Collection and analysis of data on layout of Wrike office premises that occupy 5 floors of a business center
2
Modelling of a radio coverage as part of predictive planning with subsequent selection of best possible locations for installation of access points and position angles of antennas
3
Radio inspection and validation of predictive models accuracy using a specialized measuring system, as well as models of access points and antennas
4
Preparation of low-level solution design with description of all Wi-Fi network components and their configuration
5
Cisco solutions were chosen as a basis for the wireless network to be installed at the facility: Cisco 3504 controllers, Cisco 802.11ac W2 AP access points, Cisco Catalyst 2960 switches
6
Final commissioning and start-up of the solution and its integration into the customer’s infrastructure
7
Post-project radio inspection of the deployed Wi-Fi infrastructure to control the quality of assembling and correspondence of wireless network radio coverage parameters to the customer’s requirements
8
Report documentation preparation

Project Equipment

  • Cisco 802.11ac W2 AP access points
  • Cisco 3504 wireless network controllers
  • Cisco Catalyst 2960 switches
  • Result

The project resulted in establishment of a high-performance scalable Wi-Fi network of the Enterprise segment which is able to adapt dynamically to the operations in crowded areas for the best user experience.

    The upgraded network provided:
