Wireless network upgrade for a countryside hotel with a large entertainment area

LES Art Resort is a countryside hotel located in a scenic forest area in an environmentally clean zone. Premises of the hotel resort comprising 500 rooms include a SPA complex, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a restaurant, bowling and a night club.

The resort also has children's entertainment center, conference zones, and a concert hall. The hotel features a beautiful landscaped territory with promenade areas and well-equipped sites for recreation of grownups and children.

Challenge

The existing Wi-Fi network of the hotel did not provide the required parameters of speed, availability and performance:

• Lack of access groups in the amount required for the facility
• Location of access groups was inconvenient
• Connection was unstable and slow

To improve the guests’ comfort and support the personnel work processes, it was decided to upgrade the wireless coverage.

Solution

In scope of the project implementation, the customer set special hardware requirements:

• High-performance access groups — both external and internal
• Moisture resistance of points for SPA areas
• Neat appearance of devices
• Ease of control

LWCOM specialists implemented the complete project, including:

The solution included 3 types of access groups, including the use of narrow-beam and omni-directional antennas

• Zyxel NWA5123 series points
• Zyxel WAC6503D series points
• Zyxel WAC6553D-E series points
• Zyxel NXC5500 wireless network controller

Result

The project took 6 months to implement and resulted in creation of a reliable high-performance Wi-Fi network with seamless roaming support to enable free movement of guests across the recreation areas and the possibility of load balancing in case of simultaneous use by a large number of wireless clients at LES Art Resort hotel.

The updated coverage provided high-quality and fast Wi-Fi access for clients and personnel.
