System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) (formerly Microsoft Operations Manager, MOM) is a Microsoft program for managing and monitoring IT services, applications, and servers in a heterogeneous Windows, UNIX, and Linux environment.
The product is able to consolidate information about the functioning of various components of the IT infrastructure, providing its generalized representation in a single console.
There are possibilities for monitoring various system and application software, determining the logic of monitoring by the system administrator himself.
COM is mainly intended for organizations with more than 500 computers and more than 30 servers.
For smaller organizations, there is a System Center Essentials product that includes some of the functionality of the System Center Operations Manager and System Center Configuration Manager products, but is designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.
