Challenge:

Corporate email is one of the key services ensuring reliable communication among the company's employees, as well as external communications with partners and clients from other organizations.

For a long time, the operation of the email service utilized Microsoft Exchange Online cloud solution, the global functioning of which is completely controlled by the provider's side. The development of the business led to a change in the requirements for the security level of corporate data and services through which external communication of the company's employees is carried out.

The management and IT department of our client decided it was necessary to replace the cloud service with a solution that would be located within the company's own infrastructure.

The alternative chosen was Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, requiring the migration of all mailboxes and data from the cloud to the company's own email servers.

Technical experts from the system integrator LWCOM were invited to assist in the seamless migration process from Exchange Online to Exchange On-Premise.

Solution

As part of the project implementation, LWCOM engineers performed a full range of tasks, including:

1
Assessment and formulation of requirements for the email service
2
Development of a high-availability cluster of geographically distributed email servers
3
Installation and configuration of email servers in a hybrid setup
4
Development of a seamless migration scenario for the company employees' mailboxes without interrupting their work
5
A pilot migration of users, which identified several issues and resolved them before starting mass migration
6
Monitoring the success of the migration process
7
Stabilization of the new email environment
8
Implementation of an email protection system against spam and viruses
9
Issuance of user instructions for the client company's employees

During the project timeline assessment stage, the migration process was estimated to take 4 weeks. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the client's IT specialists and LWCOM engineers, the transfer of mailboxes was completed within the planned timeframe.

THE ENTIRE SEAMLESS MIGRATION PROCESS WAS COMPLETED WITHIN THE SCHEDULED DEADLINES
